Sudoku? Therapy? Diplomacy

The sleep total: somewehre around 4.5 hours. from 3:330 until close to 8. Nice to have prorridge in the fridge and nice that it was rolled oats rather than steel cut. Easier I think to get the cooking time right with rolled. POInt to remember. Evening was lively event about money and transportation infrastructure and disability policing. Needed Therapy appointment occurred and was productive. More need not be said though hopefully the title of this post will remind me and distill in less insufferable increments.

Porridge in the Microwave

GOing to bed at 4 works to a degree if one's schedule allows one to achieve 5 hours of sleep by getting up at 9. Still need some other reading but reading the parts of the Korea book that I fell asleep for previously is interesting: if only because it sort of wakes up my knowledge of nuclear power plants. Made porridge in the Micro. Fewer days worth but worked with with the weekly pot of beans still in its hot soak half cokked state. Floor grime Shower stuff laundry. Find the tables. And various STAR center dramas besides Also data project to think about durign bus time.

humor not email

Went to bed justafter midnight. Did this mean I got more hours total? NOOOO! Entertaininment after meeting. Do not send email that came to mind ain car ride home. Watch comedy on Youtube. Read eroticad copy. Do not try to do laundry. Do not even try to think about sorry state of launder transition. New Machines SOMETIME 4.5 hours. Then up to pee and feed cat aand was thinking about watching a US House hearing that starts at 7 am but that did not happen. Also did not make weekly pot of porridge. Manana.

Space, Time Therapy

RantWoman is unsure whether she achieved 3 or 4 hours of sleep. RantWoman could have slept longer except for breakfast, shower, and decide to go get mail before therapy appointment. RantWoman is THRILLED to find the almost full jar of instant coffee she knew she has. RantWoman is not sure celebrating by making powdered milk mocha to take with was the best idea in the world. If RantWoman is already feeling wired and querulous.... RantWoman quite likes her therapist. RantWoman peculiarly just frets a little that something has happened to therapist because of continual problems about liniing up space, time, calendar. RantWoman will not breathe and aim to present professional function at computer lab. Shall RantWoman mention the fabulous opportunity to deal with vulnerable adults issues x 3 just for walking in the door. One of the issues is rantWoman's neighbor. RantWoman so would like a different basket of problems than forever.

enough sleep sort of

Hah. Made it to 5.5 hours. Because I was able to go back to bed after morning oatmeal. NOt because of eschewing caffeine or weird calorie binges before bed. LOTS of good exercise yesterday. Less today. Sighj. Need to try to download some books so I can fall asleep to something besides N Korea. Amusements before bed: Trevor Noah, always Look for youtube versions of Wagon Wheel. No! No! No! Dylan DO NOT TOUCH. Finally found one by a woman who does not change the pronouns.

SIX hours?

Did RantWoman actually score SIX hours of sleep on top of late night popcorn and pomegranate fig bar? blame: --two wonderful college applicant interviews --frank conversation in person and email The downside, RantWoman woke up cutting it close about timing for the God where am I called today issue.RantWomn managed to bring the pot of the week beans to a boil and turn off while getting dressed. RantWoman braided her hair on the bus and skipped the vitamins, but it is turning out to be a gorgeoud day for walking.

Shampoo

Got a solid FOUR hours of sleep. Urk. WLC target is 5.5 Did not shower before bed even though that timeline would have helped about need to wash hair. Did not go back to bed in the morning because needed to wash hair and because I had day's phone interview calendar in brain differently than in calendar. Two great interviews before lunch. Now I just have to settle dithers enough to type up. Today's two listened really well to my advice which counts in their favor. Good to have interviews to fill schedule. Evil thought one: what kind of outrageous content could I include that might up the hit count? Evil thought 2: must mop floor. Must mop floor.

Almonds and hydration

Exercise? That long walk grocery shopping? Has to count because the breezeway is too wet and slippery. Who the heck designs parking lots without drainage in Seattle. Ok. Rant Off. Asleep after 4? The shower before bed was a GOOD idea both on cleanliness and relaxation grounds. Awake somewhere aroune 7 and back to bed in time to catch about another hour. Even just roasted almonds are not a great idea late at night. That probably is what kept me up so long.. Hydration? The insulated water bottles keep ice longer but it is harder to track water volume consumed. I guess I have gotten so used to being well hydrated that I notice when that slips though. Fun. Need to scrub floor over weekend so mop will dry before Monday. Also need more quarters to finish laundry. Also...

Actually

Sleep pattern: 2:30 until about 5:30. Okay 3 solid hours. Back to bed around 7 and awake a little before 10. So I made the WLC sleep target for once. Laundry laundry. When I first moved into buidling, there was a great moment of laundry flambeau followed by replacement of resident run laundry service by a large company. Things have been rocky with large company and a new contract is in progress. IN the meantime, total crapshoot how much laundry one can do. Last night 3 loads with two more to go not counting what did nto get gathered up like towels and denimc skirts. But plenty of necessities for now, sort of enough exercise AND decent sleep. Hallelujah. Praise Jesus.

Freezer

Somewhere > 4.5 hours. In bed late which means there was sleeping in chair. But woke up and could have slept longer except schedule. The good thing about a freezer full of individual portions of various pots of hte week is that one can get a meal quickly. The bad thing: no excuse to say go out walking. Cheaper. Time saved and now I WILL have to do laundry ro walk breezeway or both for enough exercise. But first a conference call.

Chair? Not chair?

Sleep total Darn close to 4 hours in bed. Plust another 1.5 hours in chair at computer lab or at home. Nice but small group at blind techies in bar. LOTS of software coding minutia this time: which editors? Which screen readers? Mildly interesting to me even though i do not write much code. Nice to know there are people to ask if I need and a couple useful tips for instance about Google docs. Do I WANT to learn another screen reader? A good side conversation with handing out a business card. Woke up this morning really MAD on themes of --people i CARE about If  I have terribly low expectations and therefore don't ask... bbut am surprised when I search and find on my own... Stay tuned because the latter needs wider audience.

Coffee with dinner

I am a grownup. I am the one who had TWO cups of leaded coffee at dinner. Sleep result: 1.5 hours in chair and then another 2.5+ in bed. Not even CPAP minimum let alone WLC. But exercise was lots of walking around shopping. party on.

Cows wild and free?

Sleep: about 1.5 hours in chair. About 3.5 in bed. Not optimal. But I got a sudoku done before bed. More importantly, I woke up with reminders that i need more dish soap and a new mop. Today I accomplished both. I GUESS a cheap plastic handle mop will make me less regretful if I lose another one. I suppose I could buy say a travel blow dryer to dry my mop so I do not have to chance the balcony police any more. Peanut butter pretzels and almonds before bed. Could be worse I suppose. Decent amount of exercise today. Still more dairy than the WLC standard. On my list to pray about some more I guess. As for the cows running free in yesterday's video, um, ranchers hate buffalo because of brucellosis. The song floats that line between silly and serious but I am not seeing cows and buffalo hanging together in the wild. More like now buffalo and some hybrid called beefalo on people's tables too. .

Car Crashes, Cows With Guns - The Original Animation, Sleep deficit

Image
Today started too early. Sometimes I wake up suddenly in the middle of the night for no reason obvious to me. I made it to bed after 2 and woke up shortly after 3. Shortly after that I heard A LOT OF sirens. The police department twitter feed said it was a fatal crash not far from me that killed one and sent two others to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. YUCK. I have wakened for a couple other crashes. Now I know to listen for the sirens. I wound up eating breakfast and then going back to bed for somewhere close to 4 hours for a total of about 5 hours. But I still felt underslept and had to shower and wash hair before bus to a meeting. Here's the rub: I am doing another round of Whole Life Challenge: team Rad Rutabagas. My absolute minimum for CPAP is 4 hours / night/ My goal for WLC is 5.75 hours. Usually this has meant I sleep more than I have been but still do not necessarily make the goal. Sigh. And because of many errands related partly to goal of more walkin...

Red

Four plus hours of sleep in bed. Plus about 1.5 in the chair. Going back to bed would have been good, but sucked into Twitter comments on station rename and outlying cities dealing with sidewalk snow removal--not. This achieved by  doing errands after STAR closed and then NOT going back to computer lab. At some point it dawned on me that it's time to make porridge but that I would be hungry and cranky in the morning. So cook porridge at night becausethat is what I have brain cells to do. This time steel cut oats, figs, flax meal, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutritional yeast, milk and some of the cream I still have. Fig bits worked better this time than sometimes. We interrupt this ramble --to answer acall that must have been butt dial. I need to talk tot he caller but not yet. --tell daf-blind neighbor asking about a piece of mail from Social securrity Save the paper for rent review. I write with big pen but he still gets out his magnifier. He writes in normal pen unless I ...

Clean sheets

Four hours! Should have been longer. RantWoman should have just gone back to bed after the early pee and feed cat routine. More sleep did not happen. Once RantWoman started eating breakfast it was all over and then RantWoman had to be at least psychically presentable for a phone interview at 10. Welcome to free public service. For the record, grit free sheets are AWESOME.  RantWoman changed sheets yesterday. RantWoman tries not to get floor grit into her bed. However, RantWoman suspects the Queen of Spades, the household dominatrix of tracking something from the cat box when she crawls under the covers to perform aging cat priorities, such as sleeping all day. RantWoman will have to test this tonight based on where cat was sleeping when RantWoman was getting dressed. Another round of Whole Life Challenge soon. I am dealing iwth thought of cutting back on dairy. Also trying to collect some details from LOUSY sloppy data collection process already, but somewhere in the listen t...

Rutabagas!

The sleep: somewhere about 4.5 hours. Home before midnight. Not sure when I made it to bed. Woke up before 5. No snow. How could I tell from sound and feel? Who cares. The snow was much less than anticipated. Going back to bed would not have been terrible but it did not happen. Fell asleep still trying to absorb some esoteric negotiation details from the Two Koreas book. At least no snacks after mandarins on top of Taco Time before 8 And yes, readers are allowed to be confused by the line above. Tough. Cope PS Rutabagas? What the ... are rutabagas doing in the title? RantWoman's strategies for surviving the snowpocalypse such as it is: have a lot of vegetable fiber on hand. Cook it. Share. But in rutabaga side dish from a bowl.. Yeah. More eggs and milk and Rutabaga

Jicama is scary

So um, I achieved... drum roll please... FOUR Freaking HOURsf sleep last night. or four hours in bed and another maybe 1.5 in the chair with the cat purring all over me. SO maybe I am better rested than I think but --I WENT HOME when I got the second computer shutdown notice about 1:30. I went home specifically because I do not want to go too many days without running the cleanup that happens at night,. Idid not go home because I was done with what all is on my mind. Bah! The food calories question: yes, ate things late. Also shopped TWO places. Good exercise but I need to get the exercise otehr ways. Buy Mop. Work on apartment issues. Do laundruy,. Today I gave my neighbor my two rolls of quarters. So until either I go to bank again or she brings me rolls of quarters, I am offteh hook about doing laundry. I have some margin but I want to get some done in case there is a power outage. Life is too much fun. And the scary vegetable problem. I bought a SMALL jicama for somethin...

sleep interrupted

Go to bed somewhere after 12. Finally get up just before 8. About 5 hours of actual sleep in that time. Forgot to put on CPAP mask at first. Ugh. Note to self: plan for power outages. About 4 hours with mask. Get up. Eat. Back to bed and another 1.5 hours up before 8. No evening snacking but still sleep interrupted.

Almost 3 again

Barely four hours of sleep again. Weird dance of energy and too fried to use energy. So finally went to bed. Note to self: clean table. Blogs / therapist

In spite of

5 plus hours of sleep inspite of not getting to bed until well after 3. Go to grocery store for exercise and prep to host a potluck. Come home. Give in to temptation and eat popcorn and gooey white bread fluff drying out holiday cinnamon rolls. Oh well. There was sudoku involved. Also videos. Also not as many interesting people as would be esirable and too many emails to write. Today was better: do a contract to hire a web developer. Walk through / mento about self-employment and other issues. Two hour meeting.

No one?

Rantwoman achieved over 5 hours of sleep by letting the computer kick her off before two. Realizing she was too fried when the sudoku screwed up just as Rantwoman was finishing. Sleeping over four hours and then GOING BACK TO BED for another 1.5 hours and sleeping until 10 am. Yes of course an earlier schedule would be better but some days you skip the shower and eat avocado tost for breakfast and make a mental note that one sleeps better with more social contact and more exercise. Now it is supposed to snow. And about the mop... Also learned neighbor's year-old grandson is enchanted by the cat. The feeling is NOT mutual. uh boy!

Grownup?

Ugh. Made it to bed before 3. Woke up a little after 6. Pee. Eat banana and drink some water. Feed the cat. BACK TO BED. Somewhere over another hour. Lie in bed and be warm at least. Not sure how much actual sleep happened. Finally got up to deal with nasal congestion. Heated the morning porridge. Sometimes I just eat the day's container cold. Added more milk and also more brown sugar. Now the recap: (note issue about short sleep and falling asleep in places I would prefer not to; mix in snacking food issues. Sigh.) Meeting in afternoon in Bellevue. Bus to Redmond library to await ride to evening alumni event. Decent but not huge number of walk segments. Glad the bus worked. Alumni event was oddly energizing including various ride issues. Woman who picked me up at the library gave me a ride, picked up 2 other riders,  finally let one of the other passengers drive the last little bit. She has eye night vision issues and is of an age and probably a cash flow level that do...

Chocolate covered booze?

Sigh. A little more than four hours of sleep. Need either to go to bed earlier or go back to bed after I feed the cat. Popcorn and pistachios for evening snack do not seem to make a difference about sleep stuff. Neither does the chocolate covered booze though I do not expect to buy any more of that after the Christmas gift box from TJ disappears. I managed to get most of my do ont eh computer to do list done but I still have Things To Write. Happy Wednesday

You'd think

RantWoman got back from something via car ride but no matter what time the something gets started RantoOman always gets home the same time. Anyway, no computer lab, just hanging and doing sudoku with the cat. NUjked two small potatoes for a snack. Probably could have skipped the butter. IN bed by 2 but awake by 6. Barely 4 hours. Breakfast, dishes, webinar, travel to appointment. At least the dishes are clean. MOrale boost. Now about scrubbing the bathroom.

Las Cuatro Estaciones de Buenos Aires

Sleep: well over four hours. Going back to bed would have been good. Getting into bed earlier would have been better. Even though late night snack was fairly sensible: pistachios, peanut butter pretzels, getting along without any snack would be better. Yesterday was a good day to walk. If the noise had been sheeting rain instead of blowers, RantWoman would have stayed put with the blowers but RantWoman realized she should go out and check. Yes! Walks. Witness. And then The Four Seasons at the Symphony. And time with RantMom and Little Sister. RantMom made it by bus from her church without incident. Good because there was protest-related bus disruption, just not at the time RantMom needed to pass through. Little Sister was not as charmed with the Astor Piazzolla version of Four Seasons as RantWoman but she tolerated RantWoman's mental excursion about the music representing different streams of immigrants to Argentina. After that errands downtown and a one-seat bus ride hom...

Blood oranges

The sleep data: somewhere around 5.5 hours of sleep. Food was weird. Atrest of a canned soup augmented with vegetables. Somehow the amount of sodium that is too much without adding vegetables and is objectively still too much after adding vegetables still seems more tolerable.  This would be why I even go for teh convenience of canned soups int eh first place. Some of the time one can of soup turns into about 4 servings when augemented with extra vegetables. Peppers and spinach work especially well with the Campbell's chicken chipotle corn chowder. That was late afternoon and then I was busy and not particularly hungry until I realized it was after 8 and I was a little hungry and wanted a walk. Walk wound up being a ride downtown to find out the Bartells was closed and a ride back and then a chicken green chile bean burrito from 7-11. And I am still gun shy about the part of the sidewalk where I tripped and hurt my arm at least in the dark. So instead,I walked along pporly li...

Did everything (?) right and

...slightly more than four hours of sleep. True, Go back to bed would have sort of been an option. Sort of. The evening okay so there was that part about chocolate covered alcohol, brandy beans after dinner somewhere around 6:30. Then get on a bus, go get cat food, try to get more Evening in missoula tea. The cat food run of course added other things and ran into someone from the New Year's party. And the evening in Missoula tea is still out so I guess I should call and whine. Skip the free coffee samples at TJ. Skip more dairy products because body says doing just fine for now. Anyway the other point is about basically two hours of standing up and walking around and even though I did not walk as far as sometimes, even though I am kind of pissy right now about crappy sidewalk in the dark, it was still two hours up and around and felt really good. Let the computer chase me home a little after 1 and only finished the sudoku I conked out in the middle of last night. Probably...

Assassination and fluff reading

Come for the sleep data. Stay for the inchoate ranting? Sleep total about 4 hours in bed, a couple more in the chair which do and do not count. Checked a couple thunb drives. I have some Quaker fiction fluff I can reread. I have something by Masha Gessen, ex-soviet, that probably is uplifting about the same way the Two Koreas gbook is. (NOT!) Worse I went to log into BARD and learned my account is suspended either from entering the wrong password too many times or for ignoring an update notice from awhile ago. Send email to WTBBL and maybe bug them again soon so I can get new reading material over the weekend. Here ad nuked potato and not very good chocolate. Awake, but tingling fingers I need to deal with or strive to avoid with better eating habits. Anyway, let teh first automated shutdown at 1 am chase me home. But then one sudoku and part of another. Some nights I am so clear: I can manage both getting the numbers into the squares i intend AND keeping the puzzle in my hea...

Good! The donuts are GONE!

The sleep: Get to bed before 1:30. Please note teh calendar reminds RantWoman to go to bed at 10:30, at 11:00... THe computer's first automatic shutdown notice is at 1. Is RantWoman a tough study? Anyway, to bed before 1:30. Sleep until 6:30! 5 hours. No staying in bed won't work. Get up. Eat leftover vegan cheese and crackers and hard-boiled egg. CConsider brewing the periodic pot of porridge but go back to bed instead. Sleep four another 1.5 hours and then make porridge! Plus fridge works now so freeze only half of the containers. Things looking up. total about 6.5 hours of sleep. Other important notes: no caffeine. No alcohol before bed GOOD party. AND good but still tiring phone call. Still ate popcorn and fluffy donut but the nie caro fog should help sleep right? Morning blessings: resupplying necessities for powdered milk mocha was definitely a good idea. At the last fluffy fluffy fluffy glazed donut. Now need to resupply the good fig newton like thin...

Coyotes and Tumbleweeds and vegan cheese

RantWoman gets to take responsibility: --Even though RantWoman could do her favorite crushed ice lightly sprinkled with soda thing over dinner, fully leaded Coke after 6 pm probably did NOT help about desired sleep hours. Add eggnog thinned with skim milk and rum. Then add angst and twitterpation. Total = less than 4 hours of sleep and ggoing back to bed would have been GOOD but momentum and food prep won out over more sleep. as for the coyotes and tumbleweeds, they are today's WA twitter memes.. The coyote is seen through night vision goggles rolling around in what the text says is the animal overpass over I 90 somewhere along Snoqualmie Pass The tumble weeds are 20-30 foot piles that closed a road near Richland in eastern WA. RantWoman finds both moments of nature just a delightful way to launch a new year.
