8 OddHappy Leap Day and Cat Behaviors Explained

Image
5.5 hours of sleep and hours of Youtube at home after about an hour of exercise bike amid the more Zoom than sleep day. I have plenty to say and today it's four hours of russian speaking diaspora speaking about the war in Ukraine. I hope it's worthwhile. Other than that check in on friend whose mother just died catch up on blog of friend with ALS check some other emails scrub stove. finish turned red beans into stew maybe back the pending beef stew audit all my out of date technology and prune the collection change sheets

Let's Go solar and

4 ish hours of sleep It's a more zoom than sleep day BUT one meeting is in person.  No photobut very cool signage in elevator. Weirdly I am bucking the trend as far as bing horrified by the Supreme Court. Just VOTE VOTE VOTe

DUH! How Cats Boost Mental Health

4.4 hours of sleep according to CPAP. I TRIED to go to bed early but tossedand turned and maybe just did not get enough exercise. Floor now reeks of carpet cleaner in the STAR Center but I will work a good pedal spell in while I write THE LAST ALUMNI INTERVIEW for this year. REALLY fun person to talk to and nice to hope the kids are all right even though the world can seem like a MESS.

Today's theme: device and desk inadequacy.

Image
All purpose Un Nametag 4.4 hours of sleep. I could have saved laundry until tonight but it was GLORIOUS. All the machines were working and NO ONE else was there. Other than that, this blog is an all natural product involving multiple ongoing technological experiments, details of which I am happy to bore anyone willing to listen about. I need to get more done than I am going to succeed about with current screen contrast issues and lack of total fluency about screen reader stuff, but ONWARD. PS: they finally announced what was causing multiple Link light rail service disruption announcements all morning. Youck.

For Sunday: Bach: “Little” Fugue in g minor for Low Recorder Quartet

Image
6.5 hours of sleep. Amazing how it works if one goes to bed at a reasonable hour. LOTS of activity yesterday.  More is needed today but... ICE CREAM, er gelatto.

6 ish hours of sleep. We will not discuss from when to when. Fairly productive day: picked up eyedrops --got new mop and will remember that Lowe's is sort of an okay place to walk in when groceries are not the thing. LOTS of construction chemical smells so don't want to overdo but plant area has lots of appeal. ONE MORE PU alumni interview to do and I will have to phone. Rain tomorrow so no mom visit attempt. And just on computer at home, NOT at computer lab. Hopefull that will encourage me to go to bed more reasonably.

Flocks of Recorders Rossini L'Italiana in Algeri - Overture

3.9 hours of sleep. Early medical appointment. I did not ask every question I could have. Partly I need to reach out other directions. Partly I kind of just don't want to deal. Anyway, GORGEOUS sunny day. And email notice of the death of a friend's mother  at 96 along with words about what an AMAZING person she was.

Clooset REPBULICAN????

Primary Ballot with a card that says "Is RantWoman a closet Republican??? 5.9 glorious hours of sleep Most of a webinar Off to tour a candidate for MOM's NEW RETIREMENT COMMUNITY. It's big and more chaotic than her current one, but it also has fewer old building problems. Does Mom need FANCY? Anyway it was a GORGEOUS day.

Musical Interlude John Dowland (1563-1626): The Earle of Essex Galiard [a5]

Look, it was either music or go find more cat videos. And what I REALLY need si to get my house in condition to have a real cat again. 4.5 hours of sleep. And the only reason not more Zoom than sleep is I watched part of one of my Zooms on Youtube. I love my pedal exerciser. And I got tired enough of trying to pluck out wayward facial hair that I actually got a razor and some lavender cream and SHAVED. Much better except I missed a few hairs. Whole thing makes me think of my dad. Dad shaved in the shower and never tried to do anything except a clean shave partly because without his glasses he couldn't see to do anything else. Anyway, glad for motivation....

Morning in America? I Think I'll Call It Morning

5.9 hours of sleep. Yes, being HOME instead of in front of bigger computer screen DOES cut cown A LITTLE on the staying up for hours watching vids effect  Lots of attempt tofix others' techno glitches today.

DDT Dedicates song "Freedom" to Navalny ДДТ - Посвящение Навальному - Песня о Свободе

Image
Observation: An awful lot of DDT songs all sound alike. Freedom, dedicated to Alexei Navalny if this video gets swooped away for copyright resons, RantWoman has another on deck      6 ish hours of sleep. queer quaker stuff  embrace of love but I went to visit mom. Tech hassles dshe does not want... Happy presidents day and happy anniversay of  #EO90566

RIP Tribute to Seiji Ozawa

5 ish hours of sleep. I lay awake and tossed about with ideas. Now I have to actually pick some to realize. Can I do more tasks tomorrow? Stay tuned.

Give us this day our daily media moment: Navalny Death Protests Over 170 Protesters Arrested in just in Moscow

Image
Yep. Apologies to blind readers: nota lot of description or dialogue. 2.5 hours of sleep. NOWHERE NEAR enough. And OF COURSE I have been spending time watching EVEN MORE and more audibly present examples than this. I will go visit Mom on Monday. In the meantime it's catch up on sleep time.

Where is the tooth fairy when I need her and a cat vid to up motivation about making apartment suitable for a NEW CAT

3.5 hours of sleep.  Having an alarm I can rely on or figuring out how to set alarm on my bedrrom radio would have let me stay in bed another hour before 10 am zoom. 10 am zoom is all about writing a grant awhile ago where grantwriter advised leaving out disabililty related stuff because the reviewers would not understand, becoming a reviewer for same program, and now being a possibly paid consultant so I should still figure out my alarm, multiple other technological time sucks and how much to try to do all at once Digression possible for morning tech issues: laptop screen is working inconsistently and I am nowhere near hot s...t blind user enough just to decide to go screen free. . As for the tooth fairy, tooth has been VERY loose for a few days. It was painful at first but I assume the nerve died and it was hanging on by a thread until toothbrushing last night . I was getting so annoyed that I was thinking of sterilizing something and just snipping. Life is much better now that I don

A wholesome breather to keep from entirely falling into the news abyss THE WORLD'S BIGGEST RECORDER!

Image
3.1 hours of sleep. The only reason I did not do more Zoom than sleep was a long in-person meeting. Next time I have to work harder at finding the right bus routes and ped path.

Either this for Valentine's day or volcanic eruption for Ash Wednesday When Did We Stop Being Naked?

Image
4.3 hours of sleep and i STILL missed my Wednesday morning Zoom. I NEED better sleep hygiene And I still find the cool air invigorating.

In Reserve: 9 Million m3 of Magma on Standby Near Grindavik - Submarine Eruption

Image
5.3 hours of sleep. Not sure why therapist missed scheduled appointment but if I had known ...I would have tried to sleep longer. Adding reschedule to all my other streams of anxiety this week. And 9 million cubic meters of magma sounds like a good name for an alt metal band. After the weekend, ZERO hours of Zoom yesterday.

Song fragment: Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing….

Image
It's MONDAY. Cloudy, Rainy. COming off two days of more Zoom than sleep. Blessings???? 4.3 hours of sleep. At least I got my 20 minutes of bicycle in before 8 pm and I THINK I can skip late night calories. Just finished some chocolate covered marzipan though. Now on to the to-do list.

Volcano Vid: Not Just a Natural Disaster - 10% of Icelanders are Without Central Heat...

Image
6.5 hours of sleep. We will not discuss from when to when. And with SEVEN hours of Zoom, still not shaking the more Zoom than sleep problem. At least i took time for some exercycle pedaling.

Fast Car Full performance at the Grammy's. Tracy Chapman & Luke Combs

Image
So, I need to check copyright issues. Is every view of the performance from a different angle copyrightable as long as proper mention is made of the artists???? 5.3 hours of sleep which, after 5_ -our webinar and 3 hour board meeting and another hour of chat, this is WAY too much more Zoom than sleep, no matter how many aerobics I try todo while listening.

Fast Car and Chocolate Milk

Image
I am hardly the only person with this song on our minds this week. 4.3 hours of sleep. One of these weeks I WILL get 6+ hours of sleep at least a couple nights in a row. McDonalds is nutritionally and economically appalling on so many grounds. Nevertheless chocolate milk turned out to be just the right amount of chocolate.

News from a few days ago, before the latest eruption: Volcanoes Around Reykjavik Seem To Be Waking Up

Image
New literary genre needed: audio description about erupting volcano livestream. Just saying 6.7 GLORIOUS hours of sleep. Grey and pukey day. Meetings continue to make progress. I have too much to do and it's my own dang fault, which I guess is a good problem to have.

Needed! The Cat Butts Song! 😺 Parody of Whiter Shade of Pale

Image
Taste? What's that? 4.4 hours of sleep. I NEED to check all the braces on my bed. I also NEED to deal with a tooth. BUT after THREE HOURS at the Credit Union we are on our way to the next steps of PROGRESS And weather was lovely. And the light rail is back up to average level of dysfunction. So I take my gratitudes where I can find them.

More Berlin Recorders and hints of a melody lots may recognize Sibelius | Andante Festivo

5 ish hours of sleep. Pizza at 9 pm is maybe not the best thing but it also made me GO TO BED at a semi reasonable hour. Okay preferred sartorial standards do not include the long purple hoodie bathroom for Zoom calls that start at 10 am but I am glad I did not hurry the shower and instead concentrated on staying focused to get through tech wizardry and what could have been a much more prickly call. And any day that starts with an appeals court finding the President does NOT have blanket immunity AND with a STUPID impeachment effort getting voted down is a really freaking GOOD DAY. Miles to go before we all sleep and FLOODS in CA, but I'll take it.

4+hours of sleep. Too many mutating dramas before breakfast. THE LIGHT RAIL IS BACK in what passes for full operation plus or minus predictable access at any given entrance. I gave up on computer and just ordered pizza by phone. Saves complaining that every time thy update the pizza of the month they whack the accessibility features on the phone app and we won't even discuss features on the web It's Monday with a VENGEANCE.

Math would be even cooler with a classroom cat!

Image
Almost 4 hours of sleep. Not quite to more Zoom than sleep but at least there is a symphony this afternoon to break up the zoom

Talking ELMO! Elmo asked us all how we were doing.

Image
It's Saturday night and an interview with ELMO about a Tweet is where I am at. 4.0 hours of sleep The good news is that I was able PARTLY to reassure myself about bed stability. I still need to double check all the corner braces, but when I finally got to sleep I slept okay. Tech meetup and 1st Saturday Quaker worship were both gifts. HOPEFULLY a money piece is settling out. HOPEFULLY because I have enough else I have to take care of. I want to order pizza, but I am seduced both by double points offer on Monday and by things I already have. Plus a big mug of cocoa and a friend who wants me to take Lucky Charms off her hands after she indulges. I will have to ask about this but in the meantime....

BLEEP this. I decided I don't DO hardware troubleshooting at least today and here's some music to decide by Sören Sieg - Jabal Ram (Oriental Rhapsody)

Image
5 ish hours of sleep. Not enough brownies or caffeine even though I had my usual two big cups of black tea AND a brownie. A friend had not texted in days due to phone wonkiness. The computer I usually work at has a confusing pile of electronic spaghetti that refuses to untangle and connect properly. THANK HEAVENS for hardware wizards. Now to my to-do list.

More from the Berlin recorder horde J.S. Bach Air aus der 3. Orchestersuite BWV 1068 arr.

It's SPRING. Appropriate music needed. 5 ish hours of sleep. We will not discuss from when to when except I missed something I will need to do next month. It was GORGEOUS today. I fetched mail. I dined at a fairly well-known palace of culinary mediocrity. Service was below average for the place and it also made me think of the service industry death spiral: staff needs to get paid. Prices go up. Service stinks. There is NO motivation to tip.  Tonight, the omelet took FOREVER to arrive, and the toast took even longer. Wheat toast with no butter option is, um, healthful I suppose. Probably if the waitress had told me they were having trouble with the toaster sooner, I could have made another choice. And I fielded a phone call that COULD elegantly solve one problem if only I cam impress upon two other PERSONALITIES a number of points. #FirstWorldProblems.
