Self care and tuna casserole

RantWoman achieved over 4 hours of sleep last night. This achievement included --the perils of making--and feasting on--tuna casserole at about 8:00 pm. The turmeric is an awesome addition, but the timing still made RantWoman way too energetic far into the night.. --RantWoman also decided she needed to change one of the fussy filters on her CPAP machine. It ALWAYS takes RantWoman too long to do this. Then this morning RantWoman discovered there is more to fuss with and RantWoman probably needs to dig out a phone number and call the vendor. --RantWoman fell asleep to the radio. It was okay. Self-care means RantWoman will pay attention to all such details. Self-care is also about adventures with food and living on what is in the larder. Stay tuned.

Sounds

RantWoman achieved over 5 and close to SIX hours of sleep. RantWoman's dawdle and pray time in the morning seems to unroll and vanish quickly and going back to bed again did NOT happen. Last night was time for #MakeAJoyfulNoise exercise in civic cheerleading. Okay in the vicinity #MakeAJoyfulNoise consists of joyously try to make a video of the sound of rain that can be tweeted out to the party and then be really really happy to have a safe indoors to go back to. And RantWoman's current earworm of the week is the entire Bach cello suite #2 in D Minor. Some earworm. And there are other sounds in the wind.... RantWoman has a gnarly interpersonal drama that keeps mutating. Also sometimes interacting with the drama, like even reading a seemingly harmless email can whack RantWoman's sleep and exercise patterns, sometimes for days. RantWoman is just sayin' and will now try to get about the telemedicine blog post she has been promising the planet for days.

More salt and pepper popcorn: nostalgia for tamari, nutritional yeast, garlic

A solid 5 hours of sleep. No snacks after supper last night but garnished tonight's supper with some salt and pepper popcorn. Pepper is nice but experience makes me nostalgic for tamari, nutritional yeast, garlic powder. A taste of college. Today was #StayTheFHome time. Dishes got washed. Trash recyclables, compost dealt with. No refrigerator science projects wrangled. Desk also still before me. TRY again to go to bed Still meaning to order a thermometer. Today also noting desire for food processor.

Peep peep from S Seattle non sequitur

Sleep last night: 5 hours, we think. Definitely skipped the go back to bed option. Salt and pepper popcorn was not catastrophic for sleep but can be omitted from diet. Still need to do dishes and actualize a clean desk and take out the trash. Supposed to be done with antibiotic tomorrow but I have clearly been missing doses. Went on a must acquire Tylenol rampage. Painful email from sister related to quest but nephew was totally cheerful bringing more cat supplies.

Salt and Pepper Popcorn

RantWoman achieved over 5 hours of sleep. RantWoman made it to bed somewhere before 2 and woke up before 6. RantWoman also went back to bed about 8:30 for an hour.. RantWoman did not get enough exercise yesterday. Today was only a little better thanks to an out of the house excursion to support "hoarding" of the next increments of distilled water, cat litter, and tea, all currently on RantWoman's buy it when you see it list even though RantWoman feels need to take some edge of anxiety but definitely does not want to accumulate too far out into the future. Excursion plus 30 min of walking the mostly blessedly deserted breezeway thinking about the city's #MakeA JoyfulNoise #WeGotThisSeattle cheerleading. The popcorn? RantWoman is a grownup about eating popcorn late in the evening. No grease, yeah, but salt and pepper flavor is surprisingly piquant. Further data point about how Bach cello suite just enfolds my body.

Walk 3 blocks. Stand Rain. Wait for bus. Bliss

RantWoman achieved close to 5 hours of sleep. Going back to bed would have been good. But RantWoman had a medical appointment. The medical appointment was an interesting exercise. Part of the point was physical exercise. The rest of the point in a post on another blog. RantWoman is again feeling underexercised  but it is her own fault for spending too much time on the phone and not paying attention to time. Tomorrow more adulting about the life forms in the fridge and MAYBE about the desk too.

Want exercycle. Want treadmill desk. Want want want

5 + hours of sleep. The plus includes time falling asleep in various chairs. Do not know how to count the cat wanting to nap on me whenever.... The not longer is the standard not make it back to bed due to media diet and today to needing to document today's I don't need to go to clinic data. Plus one Dr who looked at stuff online said "ultrasound." So tomorrow when i am done with self-isolation, ultrasound office said "Come on Down. We are Wide open," also as in not the first place one would stop for virus issues so should be clean. When not sleepless due to waves of CoronaVirus news there is always an unfolding community drama to whack sleep patterns. It seems to be the sort of thing one goes out into the desert, eats locusts for awhile and returns with some Eureka. At least RantWoman hopes so and based on some experiences... Yesterday's soup rocks. Now I have to find some other way to turn ingredients into food. Or get an exercycle / treadmill

Napping moving soup

Sleep: close to 6 hours but laundry until 2 and then back to bed after breakfast. Laundry constitutes virtue. As in all washers available for 2 loads each. No one to share laundry room with except nice African American woman who is also tall and gave me the last 10 minutes of her dryer cycle after she pulled her clothes. Plus workout of moving around and putting things away. Today more laundry and also soup. Not out of apartment all day until evening but Wednesday I am free of efforts to self-isolate and revert to social distancing. #QuarantineLife

An app a day

SIX glorious hours of sleep. Good exercise yesterday. Today a short walk. Much web conference time. Either food prep or laundry for rest of day. Also yesterday dealing with a bunch of new apps. Legs look less blotchy. Uploaded images to dr just to practice. Question around me: will telemedicine help where I live? Look the upload images thing was not super smooth for RantWoman who is acutely aware of many forms of privilege she enjoys. Think YES GOOD IDEA when people in midlife acquire disabilities to keep them productive with stable housing. Think eyes to see, look none of those advantages can be taken for granted among RantWoman's neighbors. Think, RantWoman you do not HAVE to let your mind wander down every rabbit hole it might fall into. No, but what should RantWoman do now that mind has wandered. Stay tuned. And faces. Seeing faces.... And being each other's mountains from worship last week. And God also among the not-fully-electronically connected even though

No Munching after dinner. No miso. Just embrace it.

RantWoman achieved over 4 hours of sleep. RantWoman is a grown up. Munching pistachios all evening while on a group Zoom call maybe not the best adult decision for one thing because munching tends to interfere with getting to sleep at a reasonable hour, soemthing RantWoman has trouble with in any case.. Nor is trying the red pepper miso for something warm to drink. RantWoman's body just sometimes reminds her there are good reasons she does not just chomp into miso and tofu as enthusiastically as other people do. RantWoman also has indications she either needs to walk a lot more, cut back some more on calories or deal with some medications she does not want to have to deal with. Nor was staying up till past 3 interacting with the ongoing interpersonal tangle. RantWoman is glad she was finally able just to settle down and pray and listen to more of the Chechen bombers book for distraction. Weird how distractions work sometimes. Still need to download some different books. Unf

Toddler Tigrinya and Toddler Co-workers including some in adult-sized bodies

RantWoman achieved about 5 hours of sleep. More would have been good but sleep kept losing out to twitter phone until lunch and then shower. RantWoman suspects her talking book player is failing. In addition to no battery life, the device skips around even when chances are high that the reason is NOT the cat walking on the buttons. In other symptoms RantWoman did not get the clinic called about antibiotic for the cellulitis. Also the swelling is less and whole leg seems to be responding to small efforts to keep both legs moving such as heels or toes up and down while in chair and doing stuff standing up. Toddler Tigrinya refers to incident with toddler who is fascinated with cat and cat who is not fascinated with him and it is RantWoman's fault for leaving door open to air something out. Toddler coworkers refers to a #WorkAtHomeCat item on Twitter. Snarky? Who RantWoman. Not really enough exercise Friday. Let's see how the sleep goes.

Battery failure mode--because failing battery could be taken too many wrong ways

RantWoman does not remember when she went to bed. Maybe sometime after 1. RantWoman does not think she slept for the first spell, but when she got up to decide not to try to sleep anymore it was 3 almost 3:30 am. Cat did not get fed even though she was certain it was time. RantWoman also spent time deciding whether tightness in chest was a sign she should get medical attention. RantWoman apparently was too tired to do more than doze in covered in warm things, slept another spell, woke up fed the cat and decided to try sleeping in bed again. This was maybe 5 and RantWoman slept until like 9:30. So solid 4.5 hours and less solid 2 more + Note to self: take cellulitis issue seriously. Two people advised calling clinic and seeing if they can send a antibiotic prescription to the pharmacy. RantWoman's device failure mode of the day: both talking book player and cellphone have dying battery issues. The talking book player can probably just stay plugged into the wall though an extensi

Somewhere between prayer and honor the rage because it also is holy

Made it to just over 5 hours of sleep. Great except going back to bed was not an option and more sleep would have been good. The subject line above covers a lot of it. If one is going to sneeze all over one's therapists' face, it is nice when there is glass and wires and glass between the sneeze and the person. Kind of concerned about swelling in Left leg because of history of cellulitis there. Also no walk segments on the ends of transit routings. And I still need to get my talking digital thermometer ordered. But so far So far....

Times of plague

Two nights ago, RantWoman slept for TEN HOURS. There was also some evidence maybe of fever but RantWoman has yet to get mail ordered a digital talking thermometer and decided the fever / chills were not going to hit the threshold for calling one's clinic. RantWoman found words on 3 different conference / video conference calls to say current dramas out loud. It feels good to have done that but also scary. RantWoman dozed quite a lot of yesterday and did not make it to the computer lab at all. Then RantWoman slept 4.5 hours plus another two after breakfast today. Therapy by app turned out to be cool. RantWoman posted some symptoms issues on Ambassador Thwack's twitter feed but is glad to report that putting compression socks on promptly after getting up the second time helped A LOT about one of them.

Still no laundry

RantWoman achieved a solid 5 hours of sleep. This is partly because by the time RantWoman was done fiddling on the computer she had the good sense to realize it was too late to start laundry. The laundry will keep. And RantWOman has several days before she has to choose between naked and crusty. RantWoman also could have gone back to bed except she spent a whole 1.t hours watching a press conference from S Korea from a week ago. RantWoman needs to rewatch some of it. Fun times. Today 3 hours of various prayer and worship activities by video conference or plain phone conference. And a walk that was too short and surprisingly cold because of wind. RantMom says her vitals are normal or fine or something. I guess I should call and ask if she watched the debate. I did not. AmbassadorThwack @AmbassadorThwa1 is collecting #CoronaVirusSeattle data of various kinds And exercise strategy: 10 min of low impact aerobics 2-3 x / day.

Pollen or Plague Round 2 plus new data streams

RantWoman achieved about 4.5 hours of sleep in bed. RantWoman would have gone back to bed except she gratefully received donation of supplies offered by a friend who called her just as she was getting up to feed the cat.. RantWoman had dozed in her chair early in the evening and then baked chicken and tofu almond cheesecake. Then she went to the computer lab. The writing was kind of flowing and RantWoman made it to bed about 3:15. Not good especially because RantWoman also sampled the cheesecake and chicken later in the evening than is good for sleeping. Two new data streams in this blog for awhile. RantMom self-reports about vitals The first day Mom was in isolation there was a problem about oxygen sat. Mom's finger was cold and the device would not work. Since then oxygen sats 99% and yesterday the person doing vitals did not even listen to lungs. Today a Dr came to do another virus test.. If RantMom has two tests in a row negative for virus she can be released from isola

Well received email

over 5.5  hours of sleep This involved getting to bed at a reasonable hour after finishing two emails and then going back to bed after breakfast. As of this morning, the emails were well received. RantMom's vitals are normal and stable today. RantWoman has no new symptoms of anything and nothing worsethan average. Little Sister and family who all have worse underlying conditions than RantWoman have negative test results. Therapist is game to meet by a HIPAA compliant app. Someone else was learning meeting facilitation by conference call, a problem not unique to any single one of RantWoman's social networks. And the rest of the story goes in other places.

No fever?

Almost SIX hours of sleep. 12-almost 4 and two more hours 6-8. breakfast was buckwheat groats porridge: I thought the package was steel cut oats. Good thing I like buckwheat though tomorrow I will reheat and maybe add more sweetening. Do I have a fever? grey area. I keep apartment cold so if I was cool.... But I get to monitor temperature and breathing for at least two weeks. Data goes in here. Sigh.

Magnesium and exercise

RantWoman made it to about 4.5 hours of sleep last night. RantWoman probably got nowhere near enough exercise yesterday because RantWoman just kept writing and writing and still had more but decided when the computer rebooted automatically at 1 am it was time to... The exercise helps RantWoman sleep. The fact that RantWoman walks between apartment and computer lab about 1.5 blocks each way IS exercise but RantWoman needs longer, sustained more vigorous too. Ugh right now because.... But not noshing late in the evening is also a very good thing. RantWoman spent time staring at a sudoku but then dropped off quickly listening to the bombers book. Getting test results back sooner than the promised timeline is never good news. RantWoman will keep trying to up her sleep duration.

Celery and Time Change

at least SIX hours. How did I do that besides getting to bed earlier? Should I blame Indiana which never changed times? Also went to bed seriously bummed because my mom's debate watching buddy is the person whose death was reported all over the newspaper this morning. #Covid19 And I need to download some new reading material. Fluff. Give me fluff. And more exercise. And clean laundry. All at once. And the celery: one of the provisions I stocked up on. My sister knows my thing about celery. It made her laugh when i told her. Then she told me she has too many edma issues right now to do our trademark pretend boxing thing. So eat more celery.....

Still didn't finish the book before I fell asleep

Hah! 5.5 hours of sleep. Amazing what happens if one goes to bed at a reasonable hour. Going back to bed would not have hurt but face got buried in Twitter and then phone call with Little Sister. Nothing like trying to keep a handle on one's own anxieties while trying to damp down back anxiety level.

Going viral some more

5 hours of sleep even in face of time change. 5 hours in bed. a little more before the computer rebooted automatically. If I had been in bed. A little paranoid right now about some issues with temperatures and falling asleep. I was going to either go shopping or do laundry last night but I wound up just mostly watching comedy and writing fewer emails than are simmering.  At this point I need to download some new books. I think I really do not care about the rest of the Boston marathon bombing book. Corona virus stuff is enough, more than enoough especially on top of another melodrama

No matter what time

No matter what time I go to bed, I seem to do about 4.5 hours of sleep. Last night I went home after falling asleep before the computer rebooted. But then I did a sudoku and woke up after 4.5 hours. I went back to bed briefly but could not settle. Fresh new anxieties of the viral nature along with turning the news off overnight, oh and my bombers book This morning in the laundry room someone asked whether there are any positive cases here. Um, if there were, WE WOULD KNOW

What could possibly...?

4.5 hours of sleep. My fault. Pepsi at 8 pm tasted just GREAT. We will nto talk about what time I made it to bed. Adulting is overrated. Other than that, nothing like a good bombers moment in the book to distract from daytime CORONAVIRUS anxieties. I had something else snarky to say but it will keep, along with fresh NEW Corona virus considerations until tomorrow. At least I got exercise while grocery shopping today. Having everyone work at home does WONDERS for traffic.

Smelly

Made it to almost 5 hours of sleep in bed and more dozing in chair when I should ahve been in bed.. Excursion to grocery outlet and too easy to eat ice cream and pistachios . Rest of grocery outlet excursion is about smelly and #CoronaVirusSeattle Is it ANXIETY? Adrenalin Junkie? Hell yes, we are entitled to be paranoid...

Corona virus content warning

Image
Close to 5 hours sleep. Too many peanut butter pretzels late at night though. Talking book reader rolled over bleating about "Battery low" just as the journalist who wrote the book was talking about what the bombers' peers did or did not observe. Journalist is very astute. The story is both dreadful and banal. Not to mention morbidly fascinating. File whole reading experience under maybe I should read up further from things tied to my MA and go try to get a teaching job at one of the community colleges. Other than that wrote meetup invitation last night based on yesterday's go about with caution message. Today's is stronger: we RECOMMEND you not gather in groups of more than 10. Also guests and some participants recommend just following the recommendations. Other than that, this post needs some actual corona virus or at least such as search strings in Google cough up. This image actually does not work so well by touch. Plus RantWoman knows NOTHING useful

Booze

scored about 5 hours of sleep. Did not even try to go back to bed. Blame Twitter which included both corona virus and primaries. 5 hours is 5 hours though and besides I woke up a couple times with the book. I SWEAR the cat is to blame somehow... Good exercise day yesterday. If I can get in enough bus walk segments to add up to two miles, that is good. Booze: something called cinnamon toast crunch. I should read the bar listing about what's in it but overice, something cinnamony, not sure what else. Ice matters. So does double the volume in additional ice water. Hydration is not for sissies.

Pollen or plague

Made it to almost 6 hours by going back to bed. Earlier to bed would not have been terrible. My poor Chechen bombers are all having family calamities and I have slept through key moemnts several times now. Maybe I should see if some of poetry I heard yesterday are available throuhg BARD or Bookshare. More sleep would also not have been terrible but sleeping too late in the morning mostly does not work. But now I am trying to decide whether watery eyes and other unpleasantness are regular annual pollen cycles or general epic reaction to all the vibes and viruses in the air. Mleah.

Pineapple on Pizza

RantWoman achieved a solid FIVE HOURs of sleep This included falling asleep again to  the middle of the bombers transformation into bombers. Oh well. The pineapple on pizza? Lunch between cGOOD conversations and  a POETRY reading. Today included may probably not enough walk segments. Today also included excellent grist for ablind person in meetings blog post or 3 or seventeen. And today included dances with presidential campaign ableism and coping with modern plagues. Happy march
