 4 + hours of sleep.


Sometimes the anxiety release from FINISHING THE DANG CROSSWORD PUZZLE is worth the hit in sleep time. Sometimes.

I was in the middle of my every other Friday cranky and diverse people with disabilities call when there was a knock on my door. The step ladder I ordered from Amazon arrived.


OH GOOD. I can unpack the step ladder and change the bathroom light bulb that has been burnt out for MONTHS. Yes I put in a work order. No, I assume changes of light bulbs are not considering life threatening. 


I set up the step ladder and got the dead bulb unscrewed. I am not sure why I screwed and screwed and could never get the new bulb seated right. Instead I wound up dropping it and shattering it all over the tub and the bathroom floor. 


MUCH fun cleaning up the broken glass.


BUT LATER, the maintenance guy showed up and said I had a package in the mail area. NO IDEA why that one did not get delivered to my apartment Anyway, maintenance guy mentioned that I had a work order open about a lightbulb. YES! And I even had more bulbs. Maintenance guy had his own step ladder and the lightbulb got changed after all!

Holy Cow. Almost 9 hours of sleep. The extravagant luxury of going back to bed and not even trying to do anything after 5.9 hours of sleep. Going to bed at a reasonable hour because of not wanting to compute in the computer lab with no AC helped.  I decided I needed to get up and eat a real breakfast after a dream involving my certainty that I needed to take a shower in a tiny restroom near a big event of some kind and then enjoying a lot of food that I found tasty and it was not clear whether others realized it was available. I probably can go all kinds of places with that. Computer lab has AC. Room where digital equity team works does not. There is some kind of switching mystery that not even one of the very wise SHA HVAC experts can solve. Nice to see the computer lab space in use. About six hours of sleep. I should have gone back to bed. CPAP is a little bit of a workout but I think that will settle down. Mom's tree after all the presents were unwrapped Christmas with the fam went brilliantly.  First there was a chauffeur schedule that left me time to talk to Mom about latest non-locating of my brother while nephew fetched his parents. We did snack food and did not even attempt anything complex in Mom's "one-butt kitchen" Little Sister brought Little Smokies, one pan in a sauce I did not expect to tolerate made of commercial BBQ sauce and grape jelly. Little sister brought rolls and fruit salad. I brought crackers, cream cheese, beet chips and celery the latter of which I think I was the only one eating. So the rest of the bunch gets sauted and frozen for soup.  I brought yams to microwave if anyone wanted but kitchen logistics clobbered that.
