Nectarines and why veganism alone won't solve the climate calamity

 Almost 6.5 hours of sleep.

Woo-hoo!

Accomplished by going to bed at a decent hour AND going back to bed after the first round of up and feed the cat and pee.

A bag of nectarines, nectarines on the counter and other counter clutter
The seafaring nectarines
we didn't eat today.

The FAM came over. It's the first time since I have hugged my mother in over a year. I am THRILLED that I had access to a big space. Putting things together went brilliantly. I should know my family well enough by now, no matter what time people plan on gathering, not to order pizza until everyone is on the road. Thankfully no one cared that the pizza was less than piping hot.

And the nectarines? I was tasked to bring fruit. Ordering pizza came later. Anyway I went to Grocery outlet looking for strawberries. No strawberries. Nectarines from chile that were still rock hard this morning. Frozen organic blueberries 3 bags for the price of two. The nectarines are perfectly vegan. But are they climate friendly if they travel thousands of miles further than nearby markets?

But worry about food mileage, comparative advantage, global trade flows, different ways to measure Gross National... later because I am still unwinding from party. We feasted on blueberries and everyone who wanted had pizza leftovers.
