Smokey and Dusty

About 4.5 hours of sleep counting some falling asleep around the edges.

Going back to bed after breakfast would have been nice but I got sucked into some Twitter and then a webinar about people with disabilities and the election. I was morbidly curious what the Orange foolius campaign has to say about people with disabilities but I wound up not even watching that part. Maybe there will be a link for that session. Maybe I will just decide I can live without it.

Went to pharmacy and QFC after supper. Did not go in time for the “civic event” (metro euphemism for neighborhood protest nearby. I would not mind knowing more details of protest but if that does not show up in the moments when I happen to be looking at Twitter, oh well.

Picked up a couple things at the pharmacy and stopped again at QFC. Fewer shoppers than earlier in the day but the ones who were there and the staff: more of them are less careful than during the day.

Pharmacy refilled one med automatically without asking. Okay I have taken that exactly ONCE and did not like waking up feeling woolly headed and DO manage SOMETIMES to sleep longer without it, so.... But I need zinc and the shelves are full of multiple brands of turmeric and melatonin and I got a year's supply of Vitamin D but somehow even though the label said 90 pills of one of my BP meds, I only got 30 and now need to go BACK to the pharmacy....

On the upside, dairy products are cheap this week which considering certain record high temperatures in a Siberian city called Verkhoyansk, I am allowed to have weird mixed feelings about. Verkhoyansk can bee loosely translated “somewhere near the top of the world.” This is fine for sometime N of the Arctic Circle, but it is not fine for record high temps like 100 F / 30 C. Given that methane is a big contributor to global warming and cows’ stomachs put out a lot of methane, if I am really really worried about record temps in Verkhoyansk, I could try to rethink my relationship to dairy products. I could. Right now I am just noting the possibility.

No computer after shopping trip but cottage cheese, smoked salmon and a late-night donut.

No late-night shooting news from the CHOP. Instead in the morning twitter feed. World owed a Wonks in support of Black Lives matter post.

On the aches and pains front:

Right arm has back about same range of motion and weight capacity as before fall in October. Still some twinges, but MUCH better overall.

Face aches this week, particularly the right eye. Partly it is the trip and fall thing from a few days ago. Partly it reminds me of reasons I plow into things on that side of my face. Whine mumble groan.

As for the title: two uncles of the woman who convenes the blind prayer warriors group. They are all very southern. The uncles and also a mom and great aunt need to be held in the light.
