Sperm whales and "we've got your back"

4.5 hours of sleep.

Too much to hope that a string of longer nights will hold steady but there is the matter of chocolate late-ish in the evening. Yesterday was a decent exercise day because of kitchen drainage hassles and taking out compost. Laundry and scrubbing floor still need to happen and I need a strategy for decluttering, hopefully with some bulk initial steps to create momentum.

The Tuesday NYT puzzle is usually easy and I finished that early. Note to self: this reconditioned phone is doing the same thing as other phone started to do in fail mode. Time to call and get another phone but this one lasted only 6 months. I halfway wonder whether something about NYT puzzle interaction with vibrate on touch feature is killing phone faster than it should. But I also still mean to download the Scrabble game a blind dev I know wrote, both to play scrabble and to see if I can steal navigation ideas for the puzzle. It would be really awesome though to find a young blind dev who might want to mess around coding some nav plus accessibility measures to making the puzzle more accessible.

I even detached from the computer at the first shutdown which means now I need to finish an email. But I could not go back to bed so it is what it is and this blindness tourism brought to you by avocadoes, garlic, sperm whales, and mentoring all washed down with raspberry LaCroix which it turns out is not my fave.

Lunch was guacamole and chips. I realized I have cilantro, avocado, garlic, lime, tomatoes. If one is worried about having too much garlic one should just add more. Little Sister had a hideous non-Covid-tested tooth extraction experience the other day. It left her with a giant bruise on her neck even I can see in the pic she sent by text message. She looks like a vampire has been chomping on her. So eat more garlic to ward off vampires.

The sperm whales: mental lint from the morning public radio diet. I was hoping they would make a nice visual but the first couple links I hit were more proprietary than I wanted to sort out. And the Google served up giant squid, other whale species and green octopus as well as sperm whales. I do not want to sort all that out right now. So I searched on sperm whale teeth and came upon this, cough, uplifting item Connecticut Man pleads guilty to trafficking in sperm whale teeth I clicked on the story because it had the most manageable seeming image but after I read the article I decided just to skip the wildlife-themed distractions for now and switch over to mentoring as in advocacy and "we've got your back" sort of about ....

Also put off: look for exercise bike. I realize that decent research is not going to be soemthing I can rattle off in half an hour.

No arson fires lat night at least not close but really pissed off about fire at Bradner P-patch. Neighbor also says someone has been setting fire to trees in nearby park. I mean to go gawk but so far have not made it.

As for solve racism. Solve Ableism. Keep the anti-ableism folks's feet on the ground regarding current buzzword BIPOC issues. Ummmm, one thing at a time.
