Thursday convention

WA Council of the Blind convention. Roomming with same roomie as previous years. I tried to get a friend of hers to be sighted guide so I could just commute. That did not happen. I of course am quite uncentered and expect little help on that score from roomie. Roomie is more uncentered than average. Feeling many issues of housing insecurity for herself and because of advocacy ties. Also problems with wheelchair battery so she has a manual transport chair and a gnarly scooter she has not practiced how to drive.

Sound environment alone is going to be a challenge. Scriptalke presceription label reading machine. talking book player. iPhone. talking Clock. Sometimes all at once. Or roomie bursts into song and then tells Siri to play the song she just started to sing.

Efforts to drive scooter also accompanied by more cursing that my fragile ears need to hear.

Oh and Roomies bad habit of making a loud comment for every item that comes up and even for door prizzes is in evidence worse than average.


Roomiealso  likes the room warmer than I do so event hough I tease her that it makes the service python restless, the service python motly makes us both laugh.

I did manage to get 6 hours of sleep,, continuous sleep. Roger that. Now will roomie get it together in time for breakfast?

Holy Cow. Almost 9 hours of sleep. The extravagant luxury of going back to bed and not even trying to do anything after 5.9 hours of sleep. Going to bed at a reasonable hour because of not wanting to compute in the computer lab with no AC helped.  I decided I needed to get up and eat a real breakfast after a dream involving my certainty that I needed to take a shower in a tiny restroom near a big event of some kind and then enjoying a lot of food that I found tasty and it was not clear whether others realized it was available. I probably can go all kinds of places with that. Computer lab has AC. Room where digital equity team works does not. There is some kind of switching mystery that not even one of the very wise SHA HVAC experts can solve. Nice to see the computer lab space in use. Virtual church x 3

About six hours of sleep. I should have gone back to bed. CPAP is a little bit of a workout but I think that will settle down. Mom's tree after all the presents were unwrapped Christmas with the fam went brilliantly.  First there was a chauffeur schedule that left me time to talk to Mom about latest non-locating of my brother while nephew fetched his parents. We did snack food and did not even attempt anything complex in Mom's "one-butt kitchen" Little Sister brought Little Smokies, one pan in a sauce I did not expect to tolerate made of commercial BBQ sauce and grape jelly. Little sister brought rolls and fruit salad. I brought crackers, cream cheese, beet chips and celery the latter of which I think I was the only one eating. So the rest of the bunch gets sauted and frozen for soup.  I brought yams to microwave if anyone wanted but kitchen logistics clobbered that.
