Cat vid of the day

Image
Shelter cat left behind after brother's adoption just wants to be loved 5.0 hours of sleep. I owe the world a Why medical devices need to be accessible. It was SUNNY today. About time.

For Bengal cat owners whose cats MUST go outside.

Image
Man builds 'elevator' for beloved cat This video is sweet. Also maybe in Munich there are not coyotes lurking about ready to much on housecats. 4:30 hours of sleep in bed and a nap in chair before bed. Part of my body wanted more sleep. Part of my body said Are you NUTS? Anyway, the lentil brownies I started a few days ago got baked and also some yams and potatoes. So nutrition!

What? Another country tries to obliterate its indigenous people

Image
Japan's Darkest DNA Secret | The Ainu YoutTube logic: view liked one sweeping DNA-themed story of migration and intermingling. So how about we offer another? Still way nicer that the latest steaming pile of poo passed by the US House 4:50 hours of sleep. Luckily the next couple days I MIGHT be able to sleep longer. SUNNY today. I walked to Taco Time for dinner with NO COAT except a loose vest.

Tulsa? someone needs to think of Tulsa

Image
Counting Crows - Spaceman In Tulsa (Official Music Video) Rather more F words than... But beat and story 4:00 hours of sleep. LOTS of phone calls to make next medical appointments

Shelter cat gets to do what he is good at.

Image
Shelter cat was sad so they sent him to nursing home 5+ hours of sleep and more would have come easily except for a 9:00 am medical appointment

Cat themed sweet story

Image
This special needs cat has an emotional support cat 5:40 hours IN BED not counting falling asleep a couple times before getting to bed. Today's tasks: a bunch of to-do's that need to get to done in time to go to bed and get up for an early appointment. Happy enough to have good and varied provisions but not getting enough exercise.

Time travel with greying hair

Image
Ferron, "Misty Mountain," Vancouver Folk Festival 2023 Not my fave performance but so glad Ferron is still performing. 4:40 hours of sleep. Too much twitter already and I am about to go to a Zoom birthday party. At least I can pedal away on the exercise bike

Scooter !

The day needed a cat vid. Not sure it needed this vid but here we are and there is cuteness to enjoy. 3:42 hours of CPAP sleep and some minutes other times. Sometimes I forget what day it is. Once I get up to pee, I rarely go back to bed. RAIN due for days.

Random wildlife Beethoven experience

Image
Elephants Sing to Beethoven 2:34 hours of sleep in bed with some extra nap. It's 20 degrees warmer this week than recently. And rain is due for the next several days.

Presidential CATS!

Image
Belated #PresidentsDay2025 essential info. 4:14 hours of sleep in bed. Something like 3 hours in chair. Not enough exercise but plenty of tasty food options.

Genre marriage?

Image
Gangstagrass - Up High Do Or Die Not sure what to make of this beyond #BlackHistoryMonth lesson in history and culture. 4:14 hours of sleep in bed AND awake in time to go IN PERSON to a quarterly meeting. REALLY cool to hear how some initiatives I have been cheerleading are bearing fruit. And dial a tirade available about why NOT to just rely on OWL audio for in-room PA Retirement party for someone and lunch even though I forgot to order... FareStart is alive and well for anyone who cares what FareStart is.

When YouTube serves up an artist's entire Ouevre

Image
Аквариум - Древнерусская тоска Roughly Ancient Russian woe I really should listen to the whole song and try to parse a little before posting but I didn't this time. The song has a less techno feel than other things I have posted. Boris Grebenshchikov, BG, or Borya, was famous in the 1980's as lead guitarist for the band Akvarium, Aquarium. He is presently in exile in London after his views about the Russian war on Ukraine made it impossible to live in Russia. I did not check to see whether I have already posted, but considering what I spent my weekend on Twitter /X digesting, if any of this is a repeat, tough. 2:34 hours of sleep in bed after sleep off and on between YouTube videos, Amazon orders, and other miscellany before I made it to bed. My email is full of Things where my wisdom is wanted or something. Most of them can wait. Happy Presidents' Day and also to Mr. NOT The President.

When offered roses for Valentine's day

Image
Flowers are a present to all the women of UBS. I neglected to protest that everyone deserves flowers. But the meeting was rich with ideas.. I will enjoy the roses. Plus carrying roses is a good reason to decide not tostop somewhere for ice cream 7 dark red roses in a vase           Something like 1:56 hours of sleep actually in bed with CPAP and a good  4 hours in chair. It's warmer the last couple days which is much appreciated. Also even though my hair did not freeze when I went outside yesterday morning, it was damp and sleep seemed embarrassingly more doable by the time the hair was fully dry.

Valentine's day gesture

Image
5:24 hours of sleep and the 4 hour nap in the afternoon mean I really needed to sleep after outing. I also came home with roses nice Valentine's day gesture.

Forecasted Snowstorm that hasn't happened

Image
7 am light  5:54 hours of sleep. Decent but now let's do it several days in a row.

2 Mins Ago Wanda Sykes Hilarious Trump ROAST STORMS the internet

Image
4:34 hours of sleep. Big day and do the next thing

Nature: Joshua Trees,

Image
4:34 hours of sleep. Going to bed earlier was not super helpful. I just woke up and decided I was in time to do not one but TWO zoom webinars.

Just tryna note sleep data

Image
Прощание С Родиной /  Борис Гребенщиков Farewell to my motherland The YouTube notes mention a different poet as the author. Wikipedia mentions exile to London because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine Boris Grebenshchikov - Wikipedia 4:34 hours of sleep. Anxiety is pointless because it just makes the anxiety evoking realities harder to handle. And if I am too tired to look up vocabulary but just want to let the songs carry me away....

It's Monday. I need some music Villa-Lobos Fantasia; Katherine Weintraub, Soprano Saxophone

Image
4:24 hours of sleep. Colder but not too cold and the sun was glorious for a little while in the afternoon.

Roughly, "get out of here."

Image
Аквариум - Пошёл Вон Вавилон (Official Video) 4:25 hours of sleep. I realized some ibuprofen and the special "ice cookie" in the bra would help about sleeping. Trying to self-soothe but too tired to try psalms in braille.

What shall we do with a drunken sailor? Russian rock group official video

Image
Аквариум - Что нам делать с пьяным матросом? (Official Video) "What shall we do with a drunken sailor?" Russian version. INteresting and garish relic by 80's rockers Akvarium. Funny that first search sent Youtube to a bunch of stuff that is not the group but now Youtube keeps sending me the group's music. PS I think they DO NOT endorse the Special military operation, but at the moment I am mainly enjoying the ridiculous garish visuals. 4:24 hours of sleep. A walk to pharmacy and some phone time. My incisions itch and I am cutting back on pain meds...

The world of the rock in the Grand canyon

Image
The REAL Wilderness of the Grand Canyon The narrative gets better than the beginning 5:24 hours of sleep chopped up vegetables from yesterday. Talked on the phone. Wild party day.

Humor and not humor

Image
With thanks to the friend who believes me when I say I need humor 5:26 hours of sleep. I managed to fall asleep just about the time I was going to get up, eat something and decide to take pain meds. Sads for Mugsy whose humans had to say good bye on Monday and Peter exiting the world today or tomorrow and who at least will not have any more pain the doctors can't do anything about. Snowy in the morning. Still snow on the ground for an errand and long drive More to say elsewhere

Snow and a global zombie infestation

Image
r Tree. Evidence of snow 6:02 hours of sleep. Twitter / x ads inform me repeatedly that there is a global zombie infestation. Is that the problem? I think there is a game to be downloaded, but who needs another app? I want a shower but I am about 3 hours shy of the 48 hours I am supposed to leave one bandage on. We'll see

NOT a meditation on why it takes weeks for kiwis from the store to ripen

Image
Kiwi ripe enough to eat CPAP says 6:28 hours of sleep. I knew it would happen: go to bed about 10 pm and wake up 6 hours later. Pain was minimal in bed but I decided I should get up eat something and take something to get the day star      ted. Body is stiff, but among the blizzard of paperwork I wish someon would just PUT IN MYCHART SO I CAN READ IT AND REVIEW AS MANY TIMES AS NECESSARY is something about wear special bra and don't shower for 48 hours. Incision site where dr was looking at lymph nodes itches and also sometimes rubs against the special bra   Plus even though hospital hands out oxycontin and says narcotics during surgery I really don't want to deal with suggested laxatives. But I have some kick ass steel cut oat porridge I made the other day with extra flax meal that I think will do what is needed. Expect posts in other venues to be a bit of a magical realism timeline jumping back and forth because I HAVE OPINIONS. Surprise. Some very positive....

Does time under anesthesia count

Sorry sighted people. NO fun visual today. Lumpectomy day CPAP machine says 3:56 hours of lying in bed being warm and breathing deeply but a lot less of that was sleep. And then there were 2+ hours later.

Should anyone need the physique of a raindeer herder

Image
RantWoman is not clear why this video is titled :"Europe's darkest DNA secrets." But it is fascinating and an excellent distraction from current world upheavals. 4:26 hours of sleep. NO ONE else in the laundry room at 10 pm on a Saturday night. So no fretting on behalf of school age kids and sleep on a school night. Tonight will be abbreviated because tomorrow is SURGERY. Miles to type between now and then.

Happy Black History Month and a pledge

Image
Hegseth responds after uproar over removal of Tuskegee Airmen videos 4:26 hours of sleep. Not enough but it will have to do. I was going to post an interesting thing about genetic hablotypes and the Sami of "Finnoskandia" because the patterns of migration and mixing and adaptation are interesting but I apparently did not save the link. So instead, the lovely item above and a pledge. #BlackHistoryIsAmericanHistory and I will be specifically tagging the white house occupant and new #SecDef with topical content every day of this month! Other than that my February Social security is already in my bank so I wil save fretting about topical lunacy for later in the month. And there was a lovely WCB board meeting without two usual loudmouths. More people talked! We got done in two hours. ...
