More Blue Shoe bliss

Image
Almost six hours of sleep. I should have gone to bed earlier since what is on my mind was not going to get written anyway. New blue shoes against a purple background. I spent part of my day raving about my new blue shoes. I also had Amazon orders to put away. I have SUCH mixed feelings about the super easy angle, ridiculous packaging and the good and bad of skipping brick and mortar.

New Blue Shoes

Almost 6 hours of sleep.  More would definitely not be terrible. Short nap helped about finishing the crossword puzzle. Cat only tried head butt once and then I got to doze a little longer. New blue shoes with a brand that comes with extra insoles so I can adjust for one foot bigger than the other. Would be nice not to add a new knee twinge though. And then the inbox flow picked up. Reaction some mix of the Robin Williams golf clip from Youtube where he is most 6 sheets to the wind and the Ukrainian intercepts of Russian troop conversations making liberal use of certain verb conjugations that beginning Russian teachers never teach.  GOOD MORNING WORLD.

Just say "Trump's a loser"

Not quite 5 hours of sleep in bed and at least an hour in the chair. I had real and useful conversation. Yesterday's was useful except for the part about "you're blind. How do you live?" Today a different person got a lot what I said. Today I fetched packages: new shoes, new pens, measuring cups and cane tips. Email says another package came later. Oh happy day. Did I mention my mother got to go visit tulips yesterday. I am SO GLAD for group trips.  Glenn Kirshner quoting Atlantic article. Just say trump's a loser   At least T does not have nuclear weapons, unlike another loser.

We Will see more variants

Image
4+ hours of sleep in bed. Going to bed instead of falling asleep in chair would obviously be sensible. Need to write carecommittee-ish email re someone still having COVID related symptoms despite being negative for several weeks.  Doing adultish paperwork today. Rah. Rah. Two washers

Christmas in April

Image
probably 4 hours of sleep. Laundry AND a trip out for errands add up to relaxed well-exercised body. I WISH laundry could happen with ALL machines working and NO impending drama about resumption of quest for quarters or test with debit cards. I HOPE we are free of machine robbing miscreants and I am in Hope for the Best mode. But last night having the laundry room all to myself might have to be enough. Christmas Present Night shirt As for the holiday reference, one set of pre-Christmas conversations tends to go something like this: What do you want for Christmas? Point to the sleep shirt section of fave mail order house. I want that one in that size. Short or long sleeves? I don't care. And I want that one in a different size. Plus no one cares about subtle designs. Anyway I think of Christmas every time I do laundry.  And Korean lunch is back. DON'T mess with people's comfort food or aromas but having them back on Tuesdays and Fridays feels like a big deal.

Another Manic Monday

six whole hours of sleep. I need more. I also need to make sure CPAP is clean and has plenty of water. And I need to track down the work order from I think Thursday about getting the overhead light bulb changed in my bedroom. Other than that, I AM DEALING WITH MY NEW Laptop. So many devices. So many wifi passwords to get saved. Such grand manifestations of being a grownup. Call pharmacy about eyedrop refill. check off tasks. DO LAUNDRY later before the free laundry regime goes away.

Happy Orthodox Easter

somewhere toward 5 hours of sleep in bed and the naps before don't count although they did help finally knock out the crossword puzzle. Sara Bridgesong is feeling WELL fed by blended quarterly.  Her Russian drawbridge avatar was needed for multiple visual metaphors and conceptual. markers including leave room for elijah who might show up in several formas nd why the heck I say all the time that pronouns are an essay question: songs are feminine in both Spanish and Russian. Bridges however are feminine in Spanish and masculine in Russian. And since my mind wandered over to Orthodox Easter, a link to tourist site for a church I never got to see the inside of when I was in St. Petersburg: there are both interior and exterior photos The Church of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ / Saviour on the Blood Now about multiple dimensions of unholy warS

Benchless Bus stop

Image
almost 6 hours of sleep No late night munching  The benchless bus stop part of the subject of yesterday's tirade. This is a bus shelter the only places to sit are outside the bus shelter

Billionaires Go Bleep yourselves

Image
Almost six hours of sleep. More would be desirable. I GOT DISHES DONE. Now about the floor. I also got hair washed.  I did not attempt a run to my mail box because the bleeping presidential movements so bleepily bleeped up transit for the entire region.  Supporting my mentee for Young Quaker Voices presentation had glitches. I tested but then had to substract some of my accessibility tools to make it work in the event. Not the only thing not quite working.  I should either just go to bed or attempt some laundry. Part of the reason for wanting to tell billionaires to go bleep themselves getting bananas of the right not yet ripeness home during unstable weather patters while waiting at an unusable bus thingy that cannot even be called a bench. Bananas to last all week

Interrupting the Daily Deluge of Disquiet--with Indoor Dining!

Image
5.5 hours of sleep.  The cat even put up with needing 3 rounds of head butts before breakfast occurred. I decided International quaker worship and an earth related message needed to take precedence over hurrying in my bathrobe to some furniture moving. A table! Some nachos trays restaurant interior Lunch was needed. INDOORS at TacoTime. Definitely still squeamish about mask free on the bus but man does it feel good to dine INSIDE And Chromie 2, the next iteration of ambiguously gendered Chrome book now has some new Wifi connections. No response yet to an I have 0 F--cks to give email but since I aspire to more courtesy timely about several email threads, I WILL strive to be courteous.

Two pigeons

Image
four hours of sleep. Many threads brewing Breathe. Breathe. No weird dreams of goodbye guy falling off sled Now the raised bed has tulips and next to it primroses

is a self-cleaning apartment too much to ask?

Image
Respectable six hours of sleep more or less on regular schedule. Trying to learn quirks accessibility and otherwise of new gizmo. ICat is too happy to help edit. I am doing no on any favors about... stay tuned I forgot to rage rweet yesterday abou this gross violation of basic courtesy The question is will I manage to make slides on this device Test results online the same day as scan is glorious. Not sure what some of them mean and it was a little bit of a phone gauntlet to reschedule follow up because of another activity Hapy Tuesday

Sleep? Huh????

Image
Over 4 hours of sleep. Look at some bluebells Blame late afternoon Easter coffee, not a lot of Easter chocolate and on the morning end a WEIRD dream about some kind of evil person  trying and failing to fly on a strange sled or scooter into the open bay of a big plane. Strange that the disturbing part was the falling tragically when the goal was just GET OUT OF THERE. Today involved a different scan. Results come electronically. Meaning?

Tragically underinformed about iconography

Image
About 6 hours of sleep all told including going back to bed. God had weird ideas about where I was to go or not go today. I MEAN to stay up for the Kiev morning / pacific time Quaker worship. So far i have not gotten there. I also popped on and popped off the other worship this morning. And more and different hiccups involving rider inattention and the bleepiest bleeping elevator aggravations including why are elevator buttons so hard to figure out. Anyway it was an AWESOME day just to skip the light rail and bus all the way to Mom's. The fam held it together. No one falling out from overeating. No trying to be supportive while someone with LOTS of hand issues keeps dropping things in the kitchen. Simple but nice food. Everyone able to hit positive notes. My sister and I have this joke boxing thing that just cracks my brother in law up. The boxing bloves are metaphorical but I forgot them and it was already time to go home. Medical appointments tomorrow. Why the bleep do I have to ...

There and back again, understated: visit to hot shop.

About 6 hours of sleep  Freshly polished floor is FUN Washing hair yesterday was wise.  Are museum gig was FUN. Transit experience and wayfinding were, um, interesting. Audio description of guys playing with fire....

Really Awesome Good Friday typo

Image
4 ish hours of sleep in bed and another hour in the chair. M&M's late in the evening are a bad idea. Also not enough water in the CPAP and I am not sure what other reasons there are to have wakened more than once. Today I have taken out trash and done errands. More exercise so I should sleep better. It's a beautiful day, and here's a glorious typo to celebrate Good Friday Sure, it's in British / Canadian, but that's not the typo

Nutritional yeast floor waxing and confirmation that a Russian warship has sunk

Image
about SIX hours of sleep. Going back to bed rocks. Actually waking up and not wanting to move even after banana does not rock and late evening mochaish beveragedoes not help. But if I miss a day of peace worship the world will not stop.  I bought the available container of nutritional yeast early in the pandemic. Only a few more days of morning oatmeal and I will finally need to buy more. I wish the office would get crazy and spend money on some toner. It's nice that the sign about impending hallway floor waxing is in print large enough to read--if it were also dark enough and posted at a sign the wheelchair users can also read. It would be AWESOME if they also told people which floors get waxed on which days. I would have preferred not to be smelling wax fumes in my apartment. Luckily I don't have to go anywhere right away and can let the finish cure before I stomp all over the hallway.  Why it's my free WA home COVID tests The cat wants to help edit, to get supper earl...

New Gizmo now even speaks English

Image
about 5 hours of  sleep. Fed cat early so of course headbutts or I would have slept longer.                               Strawberry mask PLUS nose wire I am getting to read prompt for witness Wednesday and for reasons of new digital Navigators doing work I am glad is getting done but not doing myself, it's TIME to figure out new device.  Entertaining that Google automatically thinks I want to type in Russian by default but useful I guess to have to figure out how to switch      keyboards. I am sure I will not be the only user of this project who wants / needs to do this.  Happy Wednesday. I can scrub and bake potatoes and squash while listening to my tech zoom but troubleshooting new gizmo has to wait.  And NO i do not want to use voice commands. Call me a luddite but that is just a bridge too far. ALso now get to manage cat's offers to edit. Finally new maks pic...

With coconut and chickpeas...

Image
somewhere around 5.5 hours of sleep.  Going back to bed was possible. Fine line of information and anxiety in the video streams a little less so, I may have already posted this recipe but if so the flavor combintations so intrigue me thati am posting again.

The printer works. The printer works.

Image
not quite 6 hours of sleep. I get wired and want to write something after I have calmed down and cleared my head. And then we will not discuss the hour. And this morning is no better since it's Monday and things flood the inbox. Besides a working printer I have an email full of SINGLE PAGE easily posted announcements in multiple languages. SO lucky to live in a county that gets language access better than many other places. The PUBLIC event that generated the recent Ask the EU comment

Plenty of local tulips on Twitter

Image
About 5.5 hours of sleep not counting falling asleep during the last video. Pretty good considering late night caffeine and not enough exercise. And considering the rest of the media streams where I knowingly choose to wander, let us celebrate some gorgeous tulips. Don't tell anyone the spring tulips can be this beautiful

Ask the EU

Image
5 whole hours of sleep. In spite of lying awake with the concepts tiny houses and ask the EU. Stay tuned. Pro tip: the cat likes to be fed in the late afternoon. But if she gets fed late in the evening, there is less head-butting in the morning. And lying in bed just being warm and breathing deeply is such a thing. Morning featured rage tweets about two themes: --#DontSayGay and #DontSayWar  --Images of atrocities involving children are child pornography. DO NOT PROPAGATE THEM. Not even if that helps track down who committed. May the Lord Bless and Keep us all. The silly red phone holder guy has re-emerged in the work area cleanup

Pandemic ain't over. Time for new masks

Image
4.5 hours of sleep. Should have gone to bed earlier. Fed the cat later in evening than usual so I got to lie in bed and be warm for quite awhile without head butts. New masks. 3 layer cloth. Wire over nose.  I hate most disposable masks.Time another day for my rationale about large person knocks a lot of virus out of the air just by moving around. 3 masks with brightly colored designs  abd packaging.

Is it Plague or just allergy season part n+1

Almost six hours of sleep. I think the sneezing is just the annual cycles of interaction with the blooming environment. Quinoa Chocolate Peanut butter  balls are so much more nutritionally responsible than Reese's cups. I am so glad I thought to make some.  Okay let's go for it. I will do the FCNL prompt next week. I will I will

Lentil Dal with spinach

Image
SEVEN hours of sleep counting going back to bed AND still up in time for Wednesday zoom. Cat is very happy to camp in my arms. Still haven't tucked into the ratatouille but rice plus spinach makes an otherwise too spice dish from Trader Joe's a lot mroe enjoyable. Can you capture the magic of spring sunlight?

Vertical conveyance with feline assistance

Image
a solid 5 hours of sleep. I am a grownup. I am responsible for the decision to start making quinoa cocoanut balls at 10 pm. They turned out fine but between exercise and sampling the product I was wired. And we will not discuss  building door malfunction and why I was home and could have been tending various housekeeping calamities. At least I was MOSTLY dressed appropriately by the time I dialed into the interaction of vertical conveyance and Powerpoint. The cat is indiscriminating: she is happy to camp in my arms regardless of the content coming out of the phone. We are both glad someone else gets paid to think about elevators and transit. Happy Tuesday. Talking to Quakers about Franklin Graham's call for an Easter Cease fire will have to wait until tomorrow with special irate prayers in the direction of Patriarch Kirill  Appreciating the pure joy of having trees nearby

Start the day with a brief Twitter Skirmish

Image
about 5 hours of sleep. Despite trying to go to bed a little earlier and detach from the most disturbing media streams. After I fed the cat, look at Twitter: Oh dear. The outrageous language nerd observation that Russian and Ukrainian are in fact distinct languages ignited brief fireworks. Just don't engage with (Mr, presumably) Honest Russian. The rest of a small corner of the Twitter universe along with much better schooled linguists agrees with me Other than that I need housemates or something. I made a LOT of ratatouille and even with half of it in the freezer, I would be glad to have people to share both the cooking and the eating. At least one of the avocados from yesterday was ripe enough to eat for breakfast. Great moments from the Less Would be More school of communications

Rock hard potassium

Image
Somewhere close to 5 hours of sleep in bed plus at least another hour in the chair. Keep trying about being horizontal before falling asleep. Also no idea what got the cpap turned off in the middle of the night.   As for the title, grocery shopping in person means coming home with both hand selected and 2 pounds of fresh kiwi fruit, all of which are rock hard. And no bananas because the ones available were already too ripe. In the next day or so, I will have to make another journey somewhere else. In the meantime, the key concepts in my info streams are atrocities, massacres, and right of conscientious objection. Awful realities and also outrageous misinformation. Today's great moment in illegible signage. Large print only works with enough toner in the printer

Something tall is going to grow

Image
5.5 hours in bed and another hours before bed. It only took the cat 3 headbutts to get me out of bed to serve breakfast. But going back to bed was not happening. Holy COW this lot got cleared fast/ What's going up next? There used to be a vegetable stand here!

People who can easily grow beards

Image
Somewhere over SIX hours of sleep plus drowsing in chair with cat curled up in my arms. Major cat gratitude. Plus I woke up with all kinds of IDEAS which now at the end of the day I am too tired to elaborate. And I got new gizmos: here. we need someone to demo this stuff. How many listening ears perpetrated by how many tech zillionaires am I willing to invite into my house? And speaking of NOT zillionaires, the rogues gallery below is the Ben Franklin (counties) transit board. I wonder whether any of them have ever ridden a bus or tried the #WeekWithoutDriving challenge. But it looks like it's easy for all of them to grow beards.
