More sleep wanted, not attained Senzeni na? (Xhosa Freedom song) | With Heart and Voice

Image
Toronto church choir of mostly white people performing. Considering the lyrics are partly about "what have we done to deserve..." do white people even get to perform this/ total of 4.6 hours of sleep in bed. I woke up three times and dozed in chair a few times during the day. I hope what I have is only a cold and not COVID. Happy crappy.

Lovely bedtime music: :Francisco Mignone - Sonata No. 1 for Two Bassoons

Image
This one may be a repeat. I don't care. Plus I love the image and dare readers to guess what it is. slightly more than 7 hours of sleep. Having a cold SUCKS. More tomrrow

7.2 hours of sleep. Not much else. Skipped computer lab and one of my Tuesday Zooms

Someone pleae audio describe this" Cutest 5 minutes of fierce tiny kittens

Image
5 minutes of noodly music? Oh, you mean there are kittens too? At least for the sight-dependent 5.4 hours of sleep. Hard boiled eggs and baked yams and potatoes. Guess the menu between now nad Friday. 3 zooms for a total of 4.5 hours. 1/2 hour or so of exercise bicycle. Miscellaneous stretches. Too many to-dos and I kind of freeze. UGH. Onward.

Should be good advice but LIFE... "Teach Your Children" Kathy Mattea, Alison Krauss,& Suzy Boggus 1995

3.9 hours of sleep  Shower before bed and then up in time to throw on clothes, head for breakfast at ..  App wasn't working. Rant available about too much computerization when a life customer service experience should be part of the deal. On way to bus, dial a tirade also available about car campers. I am more tolerant than many AS LONG AS THEY KEEP THE SIDEWALKS CLEAR. Got on bus to Mom's church. Mom's church is celebrating 20 years since the pastor was installed. It was a lovely even that reminded me again of all that I love about that church including someone willing to say "bliss ninny" about overabundant cheerfulness.  Also kind of weird because it stirred up where Mom's and my lives were 20 years ago before she moved to Seattle. I was still recovering from first detached retina and Mom was about to have her first cancer surgery.  And other circumstances also roiling the sediments of memory. Happy bleeping September.

Thirsty llama, lost emu found and will the human sleep?Camila Cabello Sings Llama Llama Red Pajama

Image
A sweet version. Not the whole story but who cares. Tenderness. Tiredness. Thirst CPAP says 3.7 hours of sleep. Out of bed in time to make blind chapter meeting but without shower. And I should have done the bus train bus routing because there were late buses and reroutes downtown because of some kind of run. Good to see people. I knew somehow I was supposed to go. Celebrate sun and aim to go to shower and go to bed earlier so I can go to Mom's church and celebrate 20 years of her pastor.

More low and growly just because: J.S. Bach Chaconne for four double basses and octobass

Image
Repeat appearance to evoke growly undercurrents amid hope and SOME optimism It's growly but it's still Bach and I don't care if it's a repeat. 5.5 hours of sleep. Good conversations and HOPEFULLY paths forward. But cross fingers and don't let loose of things still frayed around the ends.

Sunshine and Canon in D (Pachelbel's Canon) - Double Bass | 파헬벨 캐논

Image
More melodious string bass and another old standard 4.6 hours of sleep. There is going to bed early enough to have time both to go back to bed and to shower before heading out for the day's bus adventure. Sunny fall days always fill me with gratitude. And as usual, walks to and from bus stops are a vital part of my daily exercise regimen

SUPPER success: Vienna Horns Back to the Future

Image
Let's try some French horns 4 ish hours of sleep. CPAP machine keeps shutting off. Nearly nonstop zoom for SIX different sessions. I feel terribly under exercised and missing sunny weather is just DUMB. But I made chicken and rice and beans with last night's leftovers so at least my tummy is happy.

A Wagnerian horde of bassoons before a modest quartet Also Sprach and BWBQ Theme Song, The Breaking Winds Bassoons

Image
Wagnerian to have a lot more than 4 bassoons. I finally figured out where the ensemble was formed: the Eastman School of Music, weird resonance from childhood because one of dad's college music teaching colleagues hailed from there 4 ish hours of sleep. Shower but not much else before an appointment. Tuesday afternoon at computer lab is hard because I am always off my preferred meal schedule. Today there was very festive party: YEAH to people who know how to plan parties.

ESP - Chaconne - Bach

Image
YouTube decided I need some saxophones and I decided to run with them. Brain's morning mental playlist was a mix of "I need your help Barry Manilow" and "Children Go Where I send the." Then came an "Oh SHIT, actual shit" thought from a morning phone conversation related to laundry issues. I think someone needs to talk to her therapist and I get to talk to mine to figure out what to say to.... Good Morning and happy Monday. Good thing I have a therapy appointment tomorrow. 4.3 hours of sleep. Gnarly phone call which left me with a couple SERIOUS "oh shit" concerns. TWO HOUR techno training on Zoom about Windows keyboard functions is TOO DANG LONG. The good thing is I think I made two laptops behave AND maybe I can learn tools AND read a new email. BUt that is why to close out the day with Bach on saxophones, instruments which DID NOT EXIST in his time.

Accordion? J.S.Bach Toccata and Fugue in d minor BWV 565 Accordion Savva Zihs

Image
4.3 hours of sleep. MAYBE I could have done more but wait: someone who likes to hold events on Sundays was reporting back from a consultation. Still no mopped floor but cooked the cauliflower and some brown rice. Deposited a check via the app At least hair got washed. Now it's dark and I should plug in a couple lamps, except I am going to hide in the computer lab. Stay tuned.

Exercise!The Trombone Meets The Bumblebee

Image
Maybe I am wrong but I think doing the Flight of the Bumblebee on the trombone would be harder than on other instruments both because of blowing the horn and because of the scale of movements needed. 7.2 hours of sleep. GLORIOUS I did not get floor mopped or various other catch up things done but I surely needed sleep. We will not discuss what time I went to bed although I got a lot of laundry done before sleep. Cold and rainy. Good errands. I missed some new bus routes on schedule change day and I will have to rework some of my mental routings but I can COPE.

Kurt Cobain meets ukeleles Smells Like Teen Spirit - The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain

Image
Once again musical idioms in collision. At least with only ukeleles, one can understand if not completely make sense of the words. Adolescence can be such a disturbing time 4.6 hours of sleep. Or maybe a little more. I definitely leapt out of bed and did TWO zooms and a chat with maintenance before my shower. I need to go out and try to buy shoes, closed shoes, not just sandals and where I can put feet in shoes not just mail order.

From the genre of any instrumentalist challenges themself. The Trombone Meets The Bumblebee | AMAZING Trombone Solo

Image
6.2 hours of sleep. I could still have slept longer but to do that and have a regular life, I need to GO TO BED earlier. Keys last night. --cut down on room light even if I am gawking at my phone. --Eat a decent supper and then DO NOT EAT anything more. I still feel very lazy and am poking through my to-do's. Like it would have been good to get some work orders in before the office closed. But here we are. Summer is over and I think I am glad. I still need to do laundry.

Why do we need loud and garish? Let me count the reasons. Sound Gurus - Beggin' / Rasputin [Live at Musikclub Open Air 2023]

Image
Fabulous color scheme Serious jazz arrangement A couple extreme instruments. 4 ish hours of sleep in bed with another in the chair. Which reminds me, tomorrow I need to get the new CPAP going. Surprisingly cool tonight and I want to write some minutes before I go to bed. Revenge of the cats is a weird way to observe the anniversary of 9/11 but somehow it fits. Details to follow

Music of the day. I need to listen to all of it. That might not happen. 4.1 hours of sleep. I debated trying to go back to sleep but need to pee and all the things that itch and ache in the morning meant just get up, start daily routines and if I doze off during morning news fix, oh well My nostrils don't believe the map about wildfire smoke. One elevator is out of commission, but I managed to help an Amazon delivery person deliver my neighbor's groceries AND get my precious laundry cart back home and STILL made it to the computer lab at a reasonable time. I succeeded in doing one drop by the office task. Then I had to figure out where I put the relevant card that is being replaced. I need to turn in one invoice. One of the computer lab regulars is pretty high maintenance. She has all the tools she needs to buy her event ticket but a couple details are not connecting. And this person is enough of a Miami Vice fan to remember there was an episode where a sports car got blown up

Sunny day with DADDY COOL (Instrumental ) by Charisma Concert Band.

Image
4.6 hours of sleep. Better than the last couple nights even if it took going back to sleep. beautiful september day. Sun, no rain. Moderate temp. And I am TRYING to go to bed at a decent hour. But speaking of digital relics, today's request: someone running Vista and whatever version of JAAWS was compatible. He lost a file. I had no idea how to tell him where to start or how to help talk him through some trial and error Happy Monday. AIming to be at home and sleeping, not falling asleep out and having t o wake up enough to walk across the breezeway.

Sleep? Ha ha. It's Psycho Killer - The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain - BBC Proms

Image
The Combination of ukeleles, concert dress the Prince Albert Hall and the theme cracks me up, almost enough to help about sleeping NO idea why but I slept less than 2 hours in bed and then another hour of drowsiness. A LOT of ACB zoom. I am not sure I care about the topic except I keep getting sucked in. A full Monday. No caffeine in the evening today so HOPEFULLY better sleep. It feels like there is more wildfire smoke in the aire than my Aqi indicator says. Whine.

Everyone needs some wildlife! WATCH: Orcas make a splash near Fox Island

Image
3.6 hours of sleep. Yikes I did finish the whole Saturday crossword though. Lots of good conversations. I got ragged on for missing a picnic where the food got rave reviews, but I washed my hair, got a little walk and fetched badly needed eyedrops. Party.

More musical bits about freaky Russian mystic Rasputin - Georgian Marching Band

Image
I am not sure and could not figure out from the Youtube page, but I think that Republic of Georgia brings us this. More amateur charm. 4.6 hours of sleep. I ignored a fire alarm. That is, I woke up, did not smell smoke and promptly went back to sleep. Protocal is alarm on floor above and below the floor of action. WHen I got up, the alarm was off but the strobe was still flashing. Talk about annoying. I suppose I could plead eyeball trauma, but just COPE. Accomplishments of the day take out paper recycling and compost long phone conversation start two blog posts send email about a december event send an email about a complicated topic. Probably I will do some laundry in a bit PS heat warning (80+ degrees) and wildfire smoke together are a drag.

And from Korea Czardas - V.Monti [DoubleBass Minje Sung] 차르다시 더블베이스 성민제

Image
Yes in fact the string bass CAN sound as melodic as a cello 3.8 hours of sleep. Going back to bed would not have been terrible. Likewise going to bed earlier. But at least I got a shower before my morning Zoom. For it being 90 degrees outside, I was amazingly comfortable with just my fan. Helps to live on the N side of the building. On the road partly to virtue: --I scheduled one medical thing --I got my new CPAP close to set up AND was able to get the manual online and print it big enough that I can almost read it or read it enough to see the table of contents and go to topical pages. The electronic version is well laid out and well edited but who wants to have to interact with the computer all the time if there is another option. Post convention doldrums and various flavors of SLOG but I live indoors and have plenty to eat even if I get tired of some of it.

Musical theme, new variant Lil Yachty Llama Llama Red Pajama Freestyle Over Ms. Jackson Beat

Image
Not the bedtime story I remember, which makes me smile. 4.2 hours of sleep. Frustration at my house. Desk a mess. Floor a mess. THINGS TO DO and I am spoiled by computers in the computer lab. I need my own better one. But I got eyedrops prescription restarted after a break because of getting 3 months supply several months in a row. Now tomorrow, an appointment to schedule and another medical thing to tend.

Organic carrots? RIVERS OF BABYLON

Image
Certain aspects of c'mon people can y'all please agree about which pitches you are aiming at but considering that it's a resident performance at a retirement home, altogether charming. 4.7 hours of sleep. THANK HEAVEN I could go back to bed after the first time I woke up. The thing with Zoom meetings is that like all meetings one comes away with to-do's And a cat in one Zoom box just reminds me HOW BADLY I need a cat. Today I dealt with pharmacy. Other followup calls tomorrow. And yes, it's still assault / battery even if the weapon is an organic carrot. Sick humor after LONG conversation about aftermath of events last week.No dancing naked on tables. No floggings with organic carrots. But happy day after Labor Day.

For all the Latino and other immigrants probably working their tails off for labor day: Pa' Arriba No Va - Celia Cruz (Lead Guitar 100%) | Rocksmith+

Image
One of the radio shows I listened to this evening is about all the undocumented migrants who get jobs doing disaster cleanup with no safety training and no protective equipment. Grrrr! 5 hours of actual SLEEP in bed. Easy bus trip to Mom's but called an Uber because the second bus runs every hour and a half on Sundays and holidays. Enjoyable meal then back to mom's apartment to visit dust. Er, to play stevedore and help Mom see what's inside of and move around an assortment of boxes. Let's see: music she has had since MT if not Colorado. Dust. Some records she can just shred. Dust.  I whipped out my phone and ordered her a wire shelving because selfishly I want to see whether having her Christmas cactus close to a window will encourage it to bloom.

Feeling Loooowwww: J.S. Bach Chaconne for four double basses and octobass

Image
It would not necessarily occur to me to arrange this piece thus, but since it's here, enjoy? I spent less than an hour trying to sleep in bed and at least 3 hours falling asleep in chairs at various times of the day. I had washed hair and changed sheets. Probably I should have made sure my blinds were a little more closed. NO, I did not get much done in the way of chores but I had a couple good conversations. I did change calendars and water plants before the Christmas cactuses get to have their annual September drought. Happy September
