NEED TO KNOW Preserve Coriander / Cilantro Like A PRO For 12 Months Without Effort!

Image
Vital culinary info I may have to try for one thing because I like cilantro and usually do not get a whole bunch used before it rots in the fridge 5:22 hours of blessed sleep. IGNORE THE DANG FIRE ALARM. The old message used to tell people to stay in apartments and put a towel under the door to keep the smoke out. The new message tells people not to use the elevator (very practical for people in wheelchairs) and exit. NOT HAPPENING if I am in bed unless I smell smoke or there are firefighters banging on my door. Annoying resonance with a political science class in graduate school that had a fire alarm EVERY flipping week. After awhile the class just ignored the alarm. It was a concrete building. The Classroom was on the ground floor. Somehow either the term ended or the fire alarms stopped the week after firefighters finally came and scolded us for ignoring the fire alarm. Chore list: --trash, STILL --Floor, STILL --mandatory paperwork where I just need to log in and finish --more on n...

Make kale chips in the oven!

Image
Silliness and rhetoric of vegetable abuse aside, who knew you can make kale chips in the oven? I am INTRIGUED 5:22 hours of sleep. AND a big pot of chicken mushroom barley soup. Trash WILL go out today, tonight. I think I should have just said the computer lab should close if another volunteer is not available. Having all the lights on in the room is SO exhausting. GAH! A customer showed up.

Beets, silliness and horseradish: beet dip actually sounds tasty

My vote: roast beets in the oven. Then puree with yogurt or sour cream, horseradish, lemon... Just read the recipe. 5:02 hours of sleep after changing the bed AND turning the mattress. Worship twice online. Brew a big pot of chicken mushroom barley soup. RIP Jimmy Carter. I have never quite forgiven him for conceding in 1980 before the polls had closed in mountain and pacific time zones. but otherwise... STILL need to work at taking trash out.

Very fun sounding recipe wrapped with a cool looking Better Health Ad

4:0 hours of sleep. Not quite enough of sleep but enough motivation to read more CPAP documentation and figure out bluetooth connection. It feels nice to be more on regular meal and sleep schedule. I got sheets washed. Will I get the Chicken Barley soup made tonight? Or should I make chili and do the barley soup another time??? Stay tuned. And tomorrow hopefully it's trash and if I am really on a roll, some of FLOOR.

Another paella recipe. this time with Shrimp & Bell Peppers

Image
It's the real saffron and the carmelized rice at the bottom I think I should invest in some saffron and some sweet smoked Spanish paprika And there are a million and one variations on paella. 6:02 hours of sleep. TRY to do that again tonight except I think I am going to skip until tomorrow to wash sheets and hot dryer the bedding. No eggs because I did not want to pay $5.89 per dozen. "Nationwide shortage" of eggs probably because of bird flu. Trying not to overdo the alarmist wins about another pandemic as soon as the H5N1 virus mutates to manage human to human transmission. JOY. Tomorrow I will make barley chicken mushroom sooup. Maybe I will do it tonight.

No, it was not plastic spacers in the box  Something like 3:55 hours of sleep. Amazing how an hour of conversation reconnecting with a long divorced aunt can be both AMAZING and triggering. Both of us shared of seeing and having opinions we did not know what to do with. Sounds like part of the picture was some next level small town soap opera and part of it was me saying "oh, I can absolutely see my mother doing...." But the main thing is some cousins finally met after decades. It was rewarding to have aunt thank me for helping bring that along.

After familiy joy yesterday, this one's for my sister. Pssst: Ladybugs Have a Killer Secret

3 hours 50 minutes again. No breakfast at McD's because McD's like almost everything was CLOSED. oh the horror. I have to demonstrate poor nutritional choices based only on what is on hand. Multiple Uber fiascoes but I made it to Mom's in time to have festive lunch. Highlights: rutabaga carrot soup and parsnip squash mash with Rosemary and sage respectively. Sweet visit with Mom and home without any more drama than a need to wait longer than I wanted for the 8
